Meaningful Sentences
Definition: A meaningful sentence tells the reader something and shows that the writer understands the meaning of the word.
Examples:
Foolish--My mother warned us not to be foolish with our money by spending it carelessly on things we do not need.
Asphyxiation--The scuba diver, nearly out of oxygen, surfaced quickly to avoid asphyxiation.
Boisterous--The children became boisterous as they laughed and shouted at the clown’s tricks.
Dribbled--Mike wiped away the milk that had dribbled down his chin.
Protruded--Mark’s foot protruded into the aisle and Maggie tripped over it when she went for popcorn.
Hesitated--Ann was not sure which way to go so she hesitated a moment, trying to decide.
