Welcome to our high school!
We are looking forward to a very productive and enjoyable school year! Since I
have joined the Junction City team, which was only a few years ago, I have
learned that this community values their schools very much. Of course, we are
always looking for involvement and input into ways to improve the educational
process, and environment in which our students learn. Therefore, my office door
will always be open for anyone to drop by to ask questions, possibly volunteer
to assist, or become a member of a committee. We definitely want our community
to know that they are a part of our team! Matter of fact, working together
truly is the biggest key to success of students at any level. The following
poem has always been a favorite of mine and it expresses how important a good
relationship between the school and home is….which, in my eyes, encompasses our
total community
Stan Dodds
THE SCULPTOR
I dreamed I stood in a studio
And watched two sculptors there.
The clay they used was a young child’s mind
And they fashioned it with care.
One was a teacher; the tools she used
Were books, music, and art.
One, a parent who worked with a guiding hand
And a gentle, loving heart.
Day after day the teacher toiled
With a touch that was deft and sure,
While the parent labored by her side
And polished and smoothed it o’er.
And when at last their task was done,
They were proud of what they had wrought;
For the things they had molded into the child
Could neither be sold or bought.
And each agreed she would have failed
If she had worked alone,
For behind the teacher stood the school
And behind the parent, the
home.
