The Junction City Volleyball program has a new look...well at
least a new coaching staff. Head Coach Megan Parks and her
staff has a goal...The Tradition Begins. With the help of
parents and friends this new slogan was chosen because we are
all hoping for a New Tradition in the volleyball program. With
this change comes new experienced and energetic coaches. At the
Freshman level we have GG Booth who is not new to coaching in
our district but is new to the volleyball program. GG actually
played for Coach Parks years back when Parks...then Majerus was
on her first stint as Varsity Volleyball Coach. Nick Hosking is
the World History Teacher at the HS. He is in his second year
teaching and first year coaching. Julie Brauer is in her first
year as a HS coach but has years previous coached club and
summer volleyball. Allison Sanders is in her first year as
well. She is a math teacher at the HS and previously while
studying at KSU was a manager for the women's bball team. Megan
Parks is originally from JC and coached after her last year
playing in college. She was the Varsity coach in 1995 - 1998
and after moving back to the area last year coached 7th grade at
the JCMS. There are 3 returning seniors and one Senior new to
the program. Kelsey Kamm, Kelsey Galloway, Abby McKenzie and
Erica Testa are those Seniors who Parks says gives the Lady Jays
a solid Leadership foundation. Our focus this year is Mental
Toughness...when we get over that hump we will be a contender!
Come support your Lady Jay Varsity Volleyball Team at home 9/23
and 10/9 and your Lady Jay JV Team 9/22.
